Prerequisites:
- The Redmi 1S should be running the stable version of MIUI ROM.
- Developer options should be activated. If not, then go to Settings > About Phone > and tap the build number five times to enable developer option).
- The Stock MI-Recovery 2.0.1 should be there on your device.

- Download the zip file from below link on your PC only, as downloading the file on phone does not work oftenly.
- Now connect the Redmi 1S device to your PC via USB.
- After connectiving, copy the file “update.zip” to the folder ‘Computer\HM 1S\Internal storage’ (root directory of internal storage).
- Now disconnect the Redmi 1S properly from your PC via USB safely remove option.
- Launch the updater app, in order to do that press the menu/options button and select the ‘Reboot to recovery mode’ option, which will allow you to boot into Mi Recovery.
- In Mi recovery menu you need to select and confirm your preferred language, it can be either English or Chinese.
- Select and confirm ‘Install update.zip to System’ and wait for few seconds.
- After installation of file you need to reboot the device. So, select and confirm the ‘Reboot’ option once popped up.
- When device rebooted, you have to go to Security option and allow the permission to activate the ‘Root persmission’.
